Pretty Pretty Pretty

We are madly in love with Tina Frey. Here are three reasons why:
1. She has a lovely dog named Zoe, who wears beautiful resin jewelry made by her mom.

2. Everything this lady does is simply classy, such as her packaging.

3. We all want to take home these pretty pretty pretty resin vases. Please come by the shop and save us from beautiful overload. These vases are certain to make your home a very happy place.

MegganColleen Designs

We blogged about the amazing bird cage lamps by this local crafty wonder, but our friends at Urban Nest blogged about her "Breathing Books" and how cute they are before we had the chance. The books mount to your wall and "come alive at the seams" with wire mounted birds or butterflies. At only $30 each, these are one of the best splurges around.

Big thanks to Urban Nest for being so on the ball!

Mark Poulin

Raised in Massachusetts, Mark Poulin headed west to live in California. He discovered the Oakland Recreational Center, where he received his art education, and began sketching. Now his simple line drawings are finding their way into his fun seasonal jewelry.

"It looks like cute is here to stay!" he says... We agree.
Mark now lives in Oakland, California and is addicted to playing Scrabble on Facebook. Yes please.

Saturday Stroll This Saturday!

Don't forget - it's that time again! This Saturday is the second Saturday Stroll from 11am - 4pm:
Ask yourself: are you ready for the second Saturday Stroll! We've got all kinds of new treats in the shop to check out. Also be sure and swing by Quirk's parking lot for the awesome crafters that will be selling all kinds of goodies!

Such Greatness

We have two shows up right now that are... well... one of our artists describes them as "soul melting." On the Shop wall we have Chicago artist Dolan Geiman.
Geiman's artworks is thick with construction. Beginning with a salvaged background surface, oftentimes a panel of wood from shipping crates or road signs, Geiman's ideas achieve form in layers through a mixture of collage, assemblage, drawing, painting, and screen-printing. A first step of painting may be followed by the application of glued papers and objects, or vice versa, resulting in a base image that may then be hand-distressed to take on a weathered or aged appearance. The final addition of a key image, either a single form such as a cowboy or bird or a montage of images, completes the work and becomes its main focal point. This flexible, mutable process results in a signature artwork which occupies a unique space between between folk, collage, and eco-art traditions.

In The vault, we have "Glamour & Intrigue," paintings, drawings and photography by Richmond's own Vilkas D'Angelo-Horvath.
Self described as "A Kinetic Learner", Vilkas D'Angelo-Horvath has been practicing art since graduating Cum Laude from VCU in 1997. Earning two BFA's in 5 years, one in Painting and one in Sculpture, D'Angelo-Horvath integrates digital and traditional media to create fantastical designs.

So Fresh and So Clean Clean

Today is an official day of Spring Cleaning as well as a shop / office Do Over. We are busy busy making a pollen free fresh and sparkly place for you to come visit. Here are a few new items you may not have seen. Because of course. . . they are so fresh.

Meggan McLeod's bird light fixtures.

Awesome Dudes by An Awesome Dude, Oura.

You should come check out our freshness.

Caught Red Handed

In this photo you see the elusive Matt Lively in a slightly unatural habitat. Normally one can find a Matt Lively painting in a 100 year old barn. However the warm weather has coaxed him out to the Quirk Parking lot for some painting action.
