Lighten Up!

Check out the work in our new window display! Handcrafted lamps made of reclaimed wood, concrete, and metal by Brian Lopez, our friendly neighbor and owner of Glide Skateboards. These one of a kind lamps truly are a piece or art and look great in pairs.

Terrence Edwards

Our friend Terence just dropped off some vinyl macbook & iphone covers that look like wood and bring some warmth to technology! His notebooks have an equally earthy color pallet and contrasting red rubber band closure.

notebooks are for sale here at Quirk!

Heart on Sleeve

A blog post by Andrea Donnelly

Lf on display with other wares at Quirk Gallery
I'm speaking to you today from the other side of the biggest hurdle of little fool's business life to date: the delivery of over 25 scarves to Quirk Gallery for my trunk show and accompanying artist talk this past Friday night.  It was a lovely and successful event, and now I can finally slow down production a bit and get back to making artwork as well as scarves.  The thing is, now that I have a chance to step back and look at what I've accomplished, the reality of this big step into retail has hit me hard: what happens if the scarves don't sell?  In November and December, Lf scarves will be waiting for new homes at three different places: the Winter Show in Greensboro, NC, at Quirk Gallery in Richmond, and at the Craft and Design Show at the Virginia Science Museum (also Richmond.)  Each scarf feels like a little handwritten note from me to the great wide world.  (Do you like me?  Check yes or no.)  It won't take too many sales to make me happy, but what if a big box of "NO" comes back to the studio after this winter season?  When I start to think this way, I try to remind myself that I fiercely believe in what I'm doing, and all I can do now is see what happens.  Nothing good will come without sticking my neck out, after all.  This is such an exciting time for me and my little business...and just a bit terrifying, too.
